Need for Speed: Most Wanted is an open world racing game set in the fictional city of Fairhaven. Players can freely explore the city from inside a car, focusing on aggressive racing through traffic at high speeds. The game has no story, with players racing to become the Most Wanted on the Speed Wall by beating rivals on the Most Wanted List to acquire their cars. SpeedPoints earned in races can be used to upgrade vehicles through modifications. The game features over 70 different SpeedLevels, with rewards including new cars, license plates, and opening up Most Wanted races. Players can also earn vehicles by locating jack spots and save car configurations into profiles. The game includes Sprint Races, Circuit Races, and Speed Runs, as well as Pursuit and Ambush game modes where players must escape the police. The Autolog social system allows players to compare scores and progress with friends, and CloudCompete enables cross-platform data transfer. Multiplayer offers various game modes with persistent scoring and global rankings. The game is available on multiple platforms with slightly different player limits in multiplayer.
