PAYDAY 2 is a co-op shooter where players can engage in heists as part of the Payday Crew, with the option to complete missions quietly or go loud. There are seven levels of difficulty with corresponding rewards, including cash, weapon mods, masks, and safes with rare weapon skins. Players can customize their skills in four classes and progress through Infamy levels for permanent boosts. Co-op play is online-only, with drop-in sessions on Crime.net, and solo play is available with AI companions. The game has numerous expansions and DLC with new content, including masks, characters, weapons, and heist missions. DLC weapons provide a power advantage over basegame-only players.
